ABOUT AMIE LAUGHLIN—AUCTIONEER AND OWNER OF VAN ZANT AUCTIONS RENO
I love the fast pace and excitement of the auction business. I have always been outgoing and talkative, and I found the role of auctioneer to be a perfect fit. When I attended the World Wide College of Auctioneering, I trained with some of the legends of auctioneering, including Colonel Paul C. Behr. After graduating from WWCA in 2011, I got my start as an auctioneer in the Reno area working for American Auctioneers, whose owners Dan and Laura Dotson can be seen on the television show “Storage Wars” featured on A & E. I am now four years into my career, and I have had plenty of on-the-job experience while doing auctions for non-profit organizations, charity fundraising events, property and estate sales, storage unit auctions, and vehicle and equipment sales. I am fortunate to have guidance from several local auctioneers, and in my experience, all of my colleagues have been gracious enough to offer me insight, encouragement, wisdom, and work here in Northern Nevada, where my company Van Zant Auctions is based.
I am blessed to have lived in Reno, NV for most of my life, and I graduated from Reno High School in 1992. In addition to my work as a contract auctioneer, I have long been a member of the Steamboat Trailers Team in South Reno. In addition to volunteering my time with several local charities, I am also a member of Reno Christian Fellowship, BSF, and I am proud to be the Club President of Soroptimist International of Washoe County, a local and worldwide organization that strives to improve the lives of women and girls. I love every aspect of the auction business, and I especially love being able to help non-profits raise money to fund their worthy causes, and to help my clients find positive solutions and achieve their goals. I hope to continue learning and growing as an auctioneer for many years to come, right here in Northern Nevada.

"Amie is wonderful to work with. She took a genuine interest in what we do as a nonprofit, she even came by and observed our classes to get a clear picture. Her familiarity with our work helped get an enthusiastic response from the crowd, one that we have never seen before. She added energy and fun to our fundraising auction-we are looking forward to working with her again!"
